Roses for Mum - 2006

I made this quilt as a gift for my Mum's 60th Birthday. I also had many "what not to do" lesson with this quilt.

 I chose a mauve taffeta fabric for the front and a gold taffeta for the back and used a thick polyester wadding trying to get the look of trapunto without all the extra work. I used a blue washable marking pen for the quilting designs which once I started quilting could barely see because of the colour and sheen of the fabric. This was the first time I had quilted feathers onto a quilt and while they quite good I definitely improved as the years progressed.
